Dean of Students, Tara Walters, is joining Sun Valley Academy with over 13 years of educational experience in public, charter, and private school settings. She has opened four Charter Schools in the administrative roles of Site Director, Assistant Principal, and Instructional Coach. Mrs. Walters has taught multiple grade levels from 2nd to 8th grade. Her passion for student wellness and being able to perform at individual best, is at the center of her decision making.
Mrs. Walters moved to Arizona over 15 years ago, but recently spent three years living in Las Vegas, as she opened two Legacy Campuses. She received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 2007. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2009. In 2016, she earned her second Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and is currently a Doctoral student at Grand Canyon University expected to graduate in February 2024 with a PH.D in Performance Psychology. Mrs. Walters believes that each child at Sun Valley Academy can be successful with the right kind of support.
